I found a really cute hair style. My hair dresser said this cut would be easy to maintain and that I would not even have to tend to my hair every day. Super. I am a no mess kind of person!

However, this is a hair style that requires “product.” I am 40+ years old and have never used “product” in my hair.

Where does one start? There are way too many products out there to choose from. I did not want the one that my hair dresser put in my hair as it was sticky. A friend told me there are “sticky-less” “products” available.

As I said, this is all new to me. Not wanting to spend a lot of cash until I find the right “product” for me, I started small.

I am starting out with extra strong “fiber gum pliable molding putty.” There are enough of those good words in the description that I was sold—and it is not sticky! How does it work? Fruit micro-waxes allow you to work and rework you style with long-lasting hold.

Directions: Scoop a small amount (their italics, not mine) of putty into palm. Rub hands together to activate fibers. Work through wet or dry hair.

The style is layered. She even razored my hair—this is new to me too. It is supposed to frame my face in a “round” kind of blanket (if you will) hugging my face. I like it—just gotta figure out how to “work it.”

Today I had my first bad hair day. Hmm . . . .  Perhaps I did not fully activate those micro-wax fibers? I worked and re-worked the hair. I just need more practice. I will persevere. Remember, I have never done this before!

(Hubby does not like it when I wear my hair hanging over my eye. Reminds me of my JCM days! For those of you who knew me in high school.)

Additionally, do you know how hard it is to take a decent picture of yourself?!
